Two New Internships at LQ
Like this Tumblr? Like our events? We’re excited to offer two new internships at Lapham’s Quarterly. Please read carefully, as we will only consider applications that follow the instructions, and please note the deadlines, they’re sooner than you might think!
Web Internship
The web intern should be a creative aggregator and internet obsessive, familiar with history feeds and book blogs, as well as is the voice of LQ’s social media. The intern is responsible for writing for the Déjà Vu blog, and can also pitch posts for the Roundtable blog. The intern will work closely with the online editor to upload the issue to the website, research images, create newsletters, maintain social media, pitch content to bloggers and websites. Web interns also participate in the editorial process, submitting texts for the magazine. Experience with Tumblr, Twitter, Movable Type, and Photoshop is welcomed, though not required.
Please note this is a full-time internship.
Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and sample Déjà post to: editorial@laphamsquarterly.org
Applications due February 1st. Internship begins February 15th.
Development Internship
The development intern assists with event planning for Lapham’s Quarterly, proofing press releases, managing press lists and guest lists, maintaining donor lists, staffing events, and generally assisting our development director. In the past, LQ has planned exciting events with James Franco, Tom Wolfe, Robert Krulwich, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Alec Baldwin at locations such as 92Y Tribeca and Joe’s Pub. We are regularly involved in talks and panels all over the city. The intern should be proficient with Excel and a good candidate should be interested in literature, publicity, fundraising, and event planning.
Please note that this is a part-time internship.
Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to: editorial@laphamsquarterly.org
Applications due February 15th. Internship begins March 1st
